Software · Accounting

I build software grounded in real business processes. My background in accounting helps me understand the business rules behind each procedure and turn them into systems and automations.

Illustration: two axes, software engineering and accounting, crossing at a point marked by a reticle: business rules turned into systems.

01About

Where business rules meet software.

Good systems start with the process they support. In accounting, that means understanding the rules, the obligations and the exceptions before writing a single line of code.

Combining software engineering and accounting lets me work with the people who run a process and the people who build the system, and translate between the two without losing what matters.

  1. Understand the process

Before choosing a tool, map the real workflow: who does what, in what order, and with which exceptions.

  2. Make the rules explicit

Business rules written down, verifiable and tested, rather than left as tacit knowledge.

  3. Automate the repetitive

Automation where the work repeats itself, leaving room for human judgment.
